Riverside Park
As a result of the 1993 flood program, INRCOG assisted with the purchase and
demolition of several homes adjacent to the Wapsipinicon River. Upon completion
of the flood buyout program, the City of Fairbank began developing plans to
include this area in its park system. With the assistance of a $75,000 REAP
grant prepared by INRCOG, Riverside Park has been transformed into one of
the premier parks in Northeast Iowa. Amenities include a gazebo, butterfly
garden, decorative lighting, an ice skating pond and a hard surfaced trail
that connects to West Bentley Park located immediately north of Highway 281.
